Chess 960 - RRTT4 Rules

Tournament: RRTT4

IF you wish to join one of these tournaments then you agree to:-

1 Abide with any ruling I make on any game, or changes I need to make when the tournament is in progress.

2 The games will be played on lichess.org.

3 The pairings will be posted on chess123.uk, on the Sunday evening of the start of the week for the round taking place.

4 The games should be "casual" as it is a fun competition.

5 All games will be Chess960 - 45 minutes plus 10 second increment per player.

6 You must play with the colour assigned. The person that is assigned to white will send the challenge.

7 There will be one game every two weeks. If there is an odd number of players, one player will receive a 1 point bye for that round.

8 Whilst normally you may wish to play on the designated Thursday at 7pm, with agreement the game can take place on any day or time, as long as it has been completed by 3pm on the Sunday prior to the next round. You can see the timetable for the assigned games (RRTT4) on the calendar on chess123.uk.

9 If you are not playing on the Thursday, or you are playing at a different time on the Thursday then please email the other members of the tournament with the Day and Time, to give them a chance to onserve the game.

10 If no result is submitted by 3pm on the Sunday before the next round, then both players will receive 0 points, unless I am contacted before hand and there is a reasonable explanation - such as one of the players cannot be contacted. I will then decide the best course of action.

11 There will be 14 rounds. One round every two weeks - (holiday exceptions). This will be a double round robin, giving the chance for everyone to play each other with both black and white pieces.

Although there are 14 rounds, players will only play in 12 rounds. The other 2 rounds will be 1 point byes.

12 The results will be displayed on chess123.uk.

13 The tournament controller's decision (Andy Heron) is final.
